We thought it would be useful to share the resources I found super helpful in making this film and being able to own my decision to not have kids. There is also a wonderful course and book by Ann Davidman and Denise L. Carlini, that people have told me have helped them on their journey of decision making. Check it out, click on her name.  

One of the best books on the subject is written by Laura Carroll, her Baby Matrix gave me a great grounding in why I felt pressured into having kids. Here is an excerpt that I found useful for people trying to make the decision. Carroll cites Dr Susan Jeffers below.

Author Susan Jeffers Ph.D. offers Questions for Mindful Consideration. She says that parenthood can be the right choice if you can truly say "Yes" to the following statements:

Statement 1:

Even though my life is good right now, I am ready to trade it in for a different one.

Statement 2

I have experienced many of the things I have always wanted to experience, such as education, career goals, and travel.

Statement 3

I realize that having a child will mean putting certain aspects of my relationship and other areas of my life on the back burner until my child grows up.

Statement 4                              

I understand that the process of parenting can be difficult.
